Dear Covenant Family:
Today we had 33 attendees at our church service. The attached bulletin lists our multiple ministries for February. Also note that Covenant will have Communion on Sunday, January 29.
Continued prayer requests were asked for Carl Romey, Patsy Sutton, Mack Vlacos and by Ron Marks for a friend diagnosed with lung cancer. Also, Marilyn Bishop is in the hospital suffering from a broken vertebrae from a fall in her home. Her doctors are still determining the best treatment for her. Vernon McKee asked for prayers for a friend whose wife just died. Carolyn Vlacos also asked for prayers for her daughter who has a relative that will be taken off life support today. Also, JoAnn Mills asked for prayers for Darlene Sanchez who is awaiting surgery to correct a medical condition that is no longer being controlled by medications.
Pastor Don’s sermon today was Be Careful Who You Listen To and was based on Isaiah 37. In this scripture, King Hezekiah of Assyria tries to deceive his people using the prophet Isaiah. However, Isaiah defended God against the accusations of King Hezekiah and promised that God would protect Jerusalem. The question to you is are you listening to the deniers of evil among us or are you listening to the promise of God? God shows us His love always while the evil try to distract us and keep us discouraged and afraid. God is always among us and will save us if we are open to His word.
I wish everyone a most blessed week!
Ron
