Words For Wednesday
Something Beautiful
I’m sure you are already singing the Gaither tune. Sing it with me:
Something beautiful, something good
All my confusion He understood.
All I had to offer Him was brokenness and strife
But He made something beautiful of my life.
Carl always says; “Do you believe that today?” Sometimes it’s so hard. I (maybe you too) try so hard to live a life pleasing to the Lord and then somewhere along the line I blow it. Unfortunately lately, it doesn’t take much. But you know, the Bible says we are forgiven. It is so hard for us to comprehend. He can do it. After all, He is GOD!
One of my devotions from yesterday said, “Bundle up every sin, mistake, and wrong choice and chuck them in the garbage bin of forgiveness. What’s finished is finished. Jump into today with JOY!”
Isaiah 43:25 says: “I, yes I, am the One and Only, who completely erases your sins, never to be seen again. I will not remember them again. Freely I do this because of who I am.”
The rest of the words of “Something Beautiful” tell us what we must do in order for the ugly to become beautiful.
If there ever were dreams
That were lofty and noble
They were my dreams at the start
And hope for life’s best were the hopes
That I harbor down deep in my heart.
But my dreams turned to ashes
And my castles all crumbled, my fortune turned to loss
So I wrapped it all in the rags of life
And laid it at the cross.
Anything you need to lay down at the cross today? Give it to God and then jump into today with JOY!
Carl has his heart cath tomorrow. Please keep him in your prayers.
