Woo Hoo It’s Wednesday on Thursday

Happy Thursday!

Sorry I am late. I was out of town.

The sermon Sunday really resonated with me. The scripture Don read from was

Matthew 7:15-20, but he began by reading Matthew 7:1. It reads, “Do not judge, or you too will be judged.” Don then shared stories about how often he had misjudged people and how easy it is for all of us to do the same.

He then went to Matthew 7:15-20. “Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16 By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.

Don shared that there are over 500 types of pecan trees. No matter the type, a pecan tree produces pecans. We are all different, but we are all children of God. We are all pecans on the pecan tree. What will make us special and what we are called to do is bear the fruit of LOVE. We simply need to love one another. No judging others, just loving them.

We live in a time where people are quick to judge. What does that mean for us as Christians?

Love one another and…

Shine, Shine, Shine!
