This week, I’m in beautiful Saint Petersburg hosting our annual conference for leadership professionals from across the country—people who do the kind of work I do every day. It’s a moment I’ve been anticipating for a long time. I was originally scheduled to host this event in 2020, but like so many things that year, the conference was canceled due to COVID.
Now, five years later, it’s finally happening—and I can honestly say, God’s timing is perfect.
As I was putting the final touches on the scripts for the week, it hit me: had we held the conference in 2020, I would have been flying solo. Back then, we didn’t have a conference planner on staff. But today, I have the incredible Amie Williamson by my side. She’s not only our communications guru but also the mastermind behind our conference planning. I truly can’t imagine navigating this week without her leadership, creativity, and calm presence. It’s such a blessing that we’re doing this now—and not back then.
Isn’t it just like God to work things out in a way we never expect? We often want things on our timeline, under our conditions, with our plan in mind. But God sees the bigger picture. And when we pause long enough to reflect, we begin to see the beauty in His timing and provision.
Yes, I’m already feeling the pressure of the week ahead—but if I were doing this alone, I’d be a complete basket case! This experience is a powerful reminder: God is in control. He’s always working behind the scenes, guiding our steps, and placing the right people in our lives at just the right time.
Shine, Shine, Shine!
