Woo Hoo It’s Wednesday

What an amazing weekend my parents and I had! We went to a wedding in Seaside, Florida. We left Thursday morning, met my brother Donnie and his wife Amy in Apalachicola for lunch and then all went to Seaside. We spent the weekend reminiscing, making new memories and laughing a lot.

In the rush of life—schedules, commitments, and responsibilities—it’s easy to overlook one of God’s greatest gifts: family. God created the family unit not just for support but for joy, belonging, and shared memories.

Time spent together isn’t just about being in the same room; it’s about truly connecting. Jesus modeled this in His time on earth. He spent time with those He loved—eating, walking, laughing, and listening. He wasn’t too busy to invest in relationships, and neither should we be.

Laughter, too, is aa amazing gift. It brings healing, and helps you forget about the stresses of life that may be bringing you down. When we laugh together, walls fall, hearts soften, and burdens lift. In the teasing of siblings, or the shared chuckles over old stories, we get a glimpse of heaven’s joy.

Sometimes, the most spiritual thing we can do is sit around the table, share a meal, and laugh until our sides hurt. These moments, simple as they may seem, are sacred.

Take the time to spend with your family.

Shine, Shin, Shine!
