If you remember, last week I wrote about a wonderful trip my parents and I had just taken together. The last sentence said, “Take the time to spend with your family.” The day I sent that, mom called and said that they were in the ER. Dad just wasn’t feeling right. After a few tests, they decided to admit him and do a heart catheterization the next morning. During the procedure, dad flatlined and Thank God they were able to bring him back. He was discharged Friday and was able to be home to celebrate his birthday. Just as I wrote last week, we were able to sit around the table, share a wonderful meal that my saint of a husband prepared and laugh until it hurt.
How thankful I am that we took that trip and were able to make more memories and spend time together. We just don’t know! We get these reminders all the time to put our effort into the things that matter. Let this be a reminder to invest time in your family and make sure those who are important to you, know how much they are loved.
