Woo Hoo It’s Wednesday

–Spring Cleaning

I am having to do some Spring Cleaning. It is hard for me to imagine that Lee and I have been in our new home for a year now. I was so proud of myself when we moved because I had gotten rid of so much. Now, a year later, I am once again adding “things” that I really do not need. This got me to thinking about things in my life that add “clutter.” What are those things, and IF (Thank you, Don Mauldin)I got rid of them, would my life be better?

A few years ago, I decided to give up Facebook. It was during the political season, everyone was posting thins about the candidates and I realized when I closed the app on my phone I-pad, I felt tense and frustrated. Giving up Facebook gave me time to read my Bible or write in my prayer journal. I still peek at it once in a while, but for the most part, the people I communicate with are the ones I see and talk to (text) on the phone. It doesn’t mean that I do not care about my Facebook friends, but it became almost like an addiction. I had to do what was best for me.

Part of the clutter that I am working on now is vanity. I worry too much about the way I look and how I dress. Is everything put together? It is a time consumer. Shopping, thinking about what I’m going to wear, getting my nails done, covering my grey…geez. I have asked the Lord to help me with this. He and I are working on it together.

Is there something in your life that adds clutter?  It’s helpful if you will stop and take a look at yourself.  I mean really stop and analyze your life. (I must have too much time in the car to think.) IF you do, you might just reduce your stress and improve the quality of your life.

Ecclesiastes 3:6 says, “A time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away…

Anything you need to cast away?

Shine, Shine, Shine
