Woo Hoo It’s Wednesday

Each year, on the first Thursday of May, people across our nation pause to observe the National Day of Prayer. It’s more than a tradition or a moment of silence — it’s a sacred invitation. It’s a call for God’s people to come together in humility, to bow our hearts before the One who holds all things together, and to intercede for our country, our communities, our leaders, and our future.

In a world filled with noise and division, prayer unites us under the banner of hope and faith. It reminds us that true change doesn’t begin in the halls of government, but in the hearts of God’s people. When we pray, we declare our dependence on Him. We acknowledge our limits and His sovereignty. And we open the door for God to move in ways that only He can.

2 Chronicles 7:14 is often quoted on this day, and for good reason. It outlines a clear pathway for healing: humility, prayer, seeking God’s face, and turning from sin. These aren’t passive acts; they require intention, repentance, and trust. But with that comes a powerful promise — God will hear, forgive, and heal.

This National Day of Prayer, may we come not only with requests, but with reverence. Not only for our needs, but with hearts longing to know Him more. Let us lift up our leaders, our schools, our churches, and our families. Let us pray for unity in a time of division, truth in a time of confusion, and peace in a time of unrest.

And may we remember: the same God who parted the Red Sea, who shut the mouths of lions, who calmed the storm — He hears our prayers today. Loud and clear!

Shine, Shine, Shine
