Woo Hoo It’s Wednesday

Woo Hoo It’s Wednesday!

I have started Christmas shopping, but I haven’t gotten very far. I was wondering why I was dragging and then it dawned on me. I need to get out and about where the lights are shining, and Christmas carols are playing. It’s more difficult for me to get in the mood when I am shopping from my computer. Plus, I need to get my shining self out there and spread Christmas joy!

I loved Don’s story about the quilt he was given by his church ladies. It reminds me that Christmas is about the JOY of GIVING. I love that feeling when I have gotten someone something I know they will love. The excitement of watching them open it is awesome. It would be such a letdown if the person opened it and tossed it aside like it was no big deal. I imagine it is how God feels when people turn their backs on the gift He has given all of us.

I don’t want to be the person who takes the gift my Heavenly Father so lovingly gave me for granted. To show Him our thankfulness, our lives should be a thank you note that never ends. We need to say thank you each day for His special gift. We honor and thank Him by sharing our joy with others. We sparkle, we shine, we love.

Jesus is definitely the gift that keeps on giving. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that he gave . . .” (NIV) and gave and gave and gave—thousands of years later, the Gift of Jesus is still giving! Woo Hoo!

Speaking of spreading joy, check out the pictures below.  These are from the Snowball Express (American Airlines) bringing children who lost a parent in the military to Disney for a 4-day trip. Only she could fit in the luggage bin.

Shine, Shine, Shine!
