Woo Hoo It’s Wednesday

I’ve been thinking about how easy it is to wonder if we’re truly loved, especially on the days when we don’t feel like our best selves. I’m so grateful God’s love doesn’t depend on us getting everything right.

Romans 5:5 says that God’s love has been “poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit.” I love that picture. He doesn’t give us just enough love to get through the day. He pours it into us until it begins to overflow.

And He loved us first. Romans 5:8 reminds us that Christ died for us while we were still sinners. We didn’t have to earn His love or clean ourselves up before He came near. When I remember that, it helps me stop looking to other people or circumstances to tell me what I’m worth.

“We love because He first loved us” (1 John 4:19). His love changes the way we love others, often in small, everyday moments. It can look like being patient when we’re tired, offering forgiveness when we’re hurt, or taking time to check on someone who might be lonely. Jesus said people would recognize His disciples by their love for one another (John 13:35).

Of course, there are days when I don’t feel like I have much to give. Maybe you know that feeling, too. On those days, I need to pause and let God remind me how deeply He loves me. I can come to Him worn out, ask Him to fill my heart again, and trust Him to help me love the person right in front of me.

That’s my prayer for us today: that we would receive His love, rest in it, and let it overflow in the way we care for others.

Shine, Shine, Shine!
