Woo Hoo It’s Wednesday

I saw these questions the other day and immediately copied them to use in my Wednesday message.

“Who would dare point to Christ’s sacrifice and say it’s not enough? Who would think that we could add anything to what Christ has done for us? Yet, so many of us behave as if we must earn God’s loveWe struggle to simply accept by grace what Christ has done on our behalf.”

Then the next question appeared. “If you previously placed your trust in Christ, do you today find yourself striving to earn God’s love?”

Oh my! I am guilty of this very thing. I think the concept of grace is so foreign to us as humans that we just don’t get it. What really helped me get it, is the first question. How could I ever say that what Christ did for me on the cross is not enough. Yet when I repeatedly try to earn His love by my actions, that it exactly what I am saying.

He died for me. I did not do one thing to deserve that. I will spend eternity with Him in heaven simply because I believe He made that sacrifice for me. I don’t need to do anything more. My doing good works should simply be because I have a grateful heart.

Grace. It truly is amazing!

Shine, Shine, Shine!
