Last week was so chaotic with work that I forgot to do my Wednesday message. I think that is the first one I have missed since I started doing this in 2020. It was a clear message to me that when times are tough, the LAST thing I should do is put my relationship with the Lord on the back burner. With everything going on in our world right now, the turbulence can make us feel unbalanced and out of sorts. How do we cope?
Scripture: “Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” – 1 Corinthians 15:58 (NIV)
In the midst of life’s raging storms, we find ourselves tossed and turned, uncertain of the path ahead. These turbulent times test our faith, challenge our perseverance, and sometimes make us question God’s plan. Yet, it is precisely in these moments that our faith can shine the brightest, illuminating the darkness with the unwavering light of God’s love.
God’s Word reminds us to be steadfast, to stand firm in the face of adversity. It’s easy to be faithful when life is smooth sailing, but it’s in the midst of life’s tempests that our commitment to Christ truly stands the test.
To remain steadfast, we must be deeply rooted in God’s Word. The Bible is our anchor, providing guidance, strength, and hope. Regularly immerse yourself in scripture, allowing its wisdom to fortify your spirit and sustain you through trials.
In times of turmoil, our prayers become more fervent, more desperate. God hears the cries of His children and responds to persistent, faithful prayer. Pour out your heart to Him, trusting that He listens and will answer according to His perfect will and timing. Our prayers for Israel are being heard!
Steadfastness is born out of unwavering trust in God’s sovereignty. He is in control, even when the world seems chaotic. Trust that His plans, though mysterious to us, are always for our good and His glory. Surrender your anxieties to Him and rest in His unchanging, steadfast love.
God places us in communities of believers for a reason. Lean on your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. Share your burdens, pray together, and encourage one another.
Lastly, remember that even in the midst of turmoil, God has a purpose. Trials refine our faith, strengthen our character, and draw us closer to Him. Embrace the challenges as opportunities for spiritual growth, allowing God to mold you into the person He designed you to be.
You cope by standing firm in your faith, even when the winds of life threaten to knock you down. God is with you in every storm, His love a steadfast anchor for your soul. Trust in His promises, cling to His Word, and know that your unwavering faith in Him is never in vain. You are not merely enduring the storm; you are overcoming it through Christ who strengthens you.
Shine, Shine, Shine!
