Woo Hoo It’s Wednesday

Happy Wednesday!

Do you ever just get frustrated with yourself and your inability to be sinless?  Or not even be sinless but feel like a good person. It seems like the harder I try to be “good,” something bad comes along and yanks me in the wrong direction. My light dims a little bit and I get very angry with myself. It then puts me in a foul mood and my light shines even less brightly.

My “Jesus Always” devotion yesterday came just at the right time. Sarah Young writes:

“Do not let fear of mistakes immobilize you or make you anxious. In this life you will err sometimes because you’re only human, with limited knowledge and understanding. “(Oh how true, Tina Pinkoson writes.) She then goes on and specifically talks about fear of making the wrong decisions and learning to include Him in our decision-making process.

But the words that helped me yesterday were these: “Remember that I am with you and for you…that you don’t have to perform well for Me to keep loving you. Absolutely nothing, including your worst mistakes, can separate you from my love.”

I know you can guess the scripture attached to this devotion. Yep, Romans 8:38-39.  For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels or demons, neither the present or the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything at all in creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Can I get a big “Woo Hoo?” He loves me anyway. I simply need to learn to love myself when I make a mistake or make the wrong choice. It will take some work, but hey, aren’t we all a work in progress?

Shine, Shine, Shine!
