Woo Hoo It’s Wednesday

Happy Wednesday!

Whew! I am pooped. Lee and I have been moving all the “stuff” off our porches and making sure the barns are secured. I am writing this Monday afternoon, trying to get ahead of the storm. There is much uncertainty about the path of the storm, but if we wait too long to get ready, it might be too late.

Most of us would probably agree that when there is a sense of stability and security in our lives, we have more peace of mind.  The structure of our days, the stability of our relationships and our health, and the security of our finances all go a long way toward a calm heart and mind.  Uncertainty, however, does quite the opposite…  creating worry and anxiety.  Uncertainty can overwhelm even the calmest Christian!  When anything is uncertain in our lives, we feel unsettled.

As the storm approaches, there is much anxiety. The uncertainty compounds that anxiety. Lee and I are ready for what Ian brings because we have done what we need to do to be as safe as possible. The future is uncertain, not just with this storm but politically and economically. How do we prepare for that? Proverbs 19:21 says: “Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.”  Our preparation for uncertain times is to know that He is in control. We must read the Word and learn more about Him so we can gain assurance in His power and love for us.

Don’t forget we have our peanut boil planned for Sunday, October 2nd at 4:00. It’s also “Wear Your Jeans to Church” Sunday.

I pray for each of you and your safety.

Shine, Shine, Shine!
