Woo Hoo It’s Wednesday

–The Drive

Yesterday I had the opportunity to drive from Newberry to Palatka to present an award, and then drive from Palatka to Kissimmee for a conference I will be hosting. I was going to be near Orlando during five o’clock traffic, so I put into my GPS to avoid highways. I had the most enjoyable drive. I quite often try to take the “way less traveled.” Not only to avoid traffic and accidents, but just to see more of our beautiful state.

While on these journeys, I like to listen to books. I have my Audible app, and through my membership have access to many books free of charge. Lately, I have gotten hooked on Jessica Fletcher mysteries. I find myself wanting to keep driving so I can hear more of the story. What I love about these books is that they are entertaining yet without all the ugly words and violence we see on tv today. She (Jessica Fletcher) often stops to take in the beauty around her. She has a way of describing the smell of the harbor, the crisp feel of winter coming, and the warm community feel of Cabot Cove.

As I sit here today, I am reminded to stop, and enjoy the things around us that God has provided. The beautiful blue skies, the hug of a friend, the smell of your favorite meal on the stove, and the comfort of our favorite chair. Everyday occurrences, that can be sources of joy if we will just take the time to enjoy them.

Have a fabulous rest of the week and don’t forget to Shine, Shine, Shine!
