Woo Hoo It’s Wednesday!

Round 2

Well darn! I tested positive for COVID Monday. Not feeling too bad. I figure if Counts at 105 can battle covid and come out a winner, I can too. The worst part about this, is worrying that I have infected someone else along the way. I actually came to church on Sunday but left because I just “had that feeling.” While I wanted to be at church, I remembered the words of my friend, Vernon McKee. We were talking one Sunday about wearing masks even though we had been vaccinated. He said, “As Christians, we need to think about others.” Monday, when I tested positive, I was so thankful that I went home. Thank you, Vernon!

I think “that feeling” is often God communicating with us. I have learned over my almost 60 years, to stop and listen to that voice. We want to hear the big booming voice saying to us, “STAY AT HOME!” But over and over in scripture God reveals to us the importance of being still and listening. We may not hear the big voice, but we may feel strongly about something, or think about someone, or feel a gentle nudge. Too often we are too busy to “be still” and listen. That is the one thing about being quarantined and not having much energy. There is a lot of time to “be still.” It’s interesting, many teach that being still means to let go, relax, release the stresses of today. No matter how you define it, we need to:

 “Be still, and know that I am God;
   I will be exalted among the nations,
   I will be exalted in the earth.”

    Psalm 46:10

What is that inner voice saying to you today? Be still and listen.

I miss you all!

Shine, Shine, Shine!
