Lost
I think we will all agree that the past week has brought dark times. The bombing in Afghanistan and Hurricane Ida brought death and destruction to the forefront of the news. It just hurts my heart to think of those who have lost their homes and families who have lost loved ones. If we focus on those things, it is easy to feel lost. I appreciated Ron sharing the words to the hymn, “It is Well,” last week. Those words are meant to provide hope in times of darkness.
If you notice, all through the Bible we read about darkness. You will also see that the darkness can be overcome. We are told that we must be the light in the darkness. We can’t allow the darkness to steal our joy, our hope, or our peace. So, plug yourself in! Read your favorite verses, sing your favorite song, listen to music that lifts you up, or simply pray. It’s important to plug yourself in and get energized because we have a lot of darkness to overcome.
The truth is, we are not lost. We have been found and nothing we do can take away the love God has for us. That should help us:
Shine, Shine, Shine!Tina
