Bending Low
Lee and I are in Yellowstone this week, fulfilling a bucket wish item for a friend of ours who is dying. Please keep us in your prayers.
I am borrowing another Max Lucado devotion that I love. I hope you enjoy.
Every knee shall bow to the name of Jesus. Philippians 2:9-10
Servants resist stubbornness. Ulrich Zwingli manifested such a spirit. He promoted unity during Europe’s great Reformation. At one point he found himself at odds with Martin Luther. Zwingli did not know what to do. He found his answer one morning on the side of a Swiss mountain. He watched two goats traversing a narrow path from opposite directions, one ascending, the other descending. At one point the narrow trail prevented them from passing each other. When they saw each other, they backed up and lowered their heads, as though ready to lunge. But then a wonderful thing happened. The ascending goat lay down on the path. The other goat stepped over his back. The first animal then arose and continued his climb to the top. Zwingli observed that the goat made it higher because he was willing to bend lower.
Usually, I wrap up by summarizing and making it applicable to our lives. I want to hear the lesson you learned from this story. Are you willing to share?
Shine, Shine, Shine!

Good morning,
I wanted to share with you our change of plans. August 15 -18, I went on a short trip to Palm Coast with two of my new friends I have met in Newberry. We had a wonderful time although Jaqueline had a cold. I suggested she get tested when we returned and sure enough she had COVID. I tested negative but Covid protocols suggest you test again 5 days after being around the infected person. I tested negative again yesterday. Lee and I were supposed to leave Saturday for Yellowstone with our friends Mary Terese and Greg. Some of you may remember that we went to Italy with them in 2019 and upon our return, Mary Terese was diagnosed with mesothelioma. She has done well for two years but the disease is slowly taking over. Because she is so compromised, Lee and I decided to stay here. We would never forgive ourselves if we in any way contributed to Mry Terese (MT) getting sick. Lee and I are leaving tomorrow for st. Simons just to have some time together. When I read the post that I wrote two weeks ago and scheduled to send out this morning, it dawned on me that Lee and I bent down so MT could go on her trip. Oftentimes we have to bend down and put others first. When you do, there are no regrets because you know you did the right thing.have a great rest of the week.
