Woo Hoo It’s Wednesday

Whoa! What a few days it has been!

I am happy to report that dad is home and doing well. I will tell you, that there was a point Sunday afternoon that I thought I would not have my dad around any longer.  I called my brothers who immediately headed to Gainesville.

When we finally saw the doctor, his words to dad were, “Your heart is a mess.” Thank God it is good enough to keep the blood flowing and him alive.

Those words made me think about the state of my heart. Is my heart a mess?

Proverbs 4:23 says; “Above all else, guard your heart for everything you do flows from it.”

And Proverbs 27:19 says, “As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart.”

Just as dad will need to have heart checkups more frequently, it might be in our best interest to do our own heart checkups as well. Stop and think about what is flowing from your heart. Is it love and joy? Or is it anger and frustration?

Your life reflects the condition of your heart. Take care of your heart by reading your Bible, establishing a consistent and earnest prayer life and by spending time with people who are encouragers of your faith.

Dad’s heart may be a mess to a cardiologist, but I think God would say his heart is in great shape! What about yours?

Shine, Shine, Shine!
