I apologize! I am a day late.
Lee hates sitting still. SO… going to the beach, being in the sun and doing nothing is NOT his cup of tea. Since I love that, two friends and I usually take a trip to the beach each summer. We sit, we read, we eat, we play cards, and we laugh. It is good for my soul.
I’ve learned a very important lesson through these trips. My two friends are very different. One has the same Christian values as I do, the other does not. Sure, we have fun together, but when I need something, when I have a concern, when I want to hangout and do NOTHING, there is only one that I would call.
The bond we share because of our faith makes being friends easy. The level of trust is different. The level of comfort is different. It’s just better!
Jesus doesn’t say not to be friends with unbelievers. We must love them too. But what we should do is cultivate the relationships that give us peace and joy, because I truly believe they are a special gift from God.
Shine, Shine, Shine!
