Woo Hoo It’s Wednesday

I have to admit, I have been in a bad mood ever since I lost all my downloaded church music. All the CDs that I changed over to the mp3 format are somewhere in the cloud and I can’t find them. Hundreds of hours…GONE!  This one simple event has spiraled into days of irritation and discontent.

As followers of Christ, we’re called to a higher standard. Our time on earth is precious and limited. Each day is a gift from God, an opportunity to spread His love and let our light shine. When we indulge in bad moods (I have indeed done that), we squander the gift of time we have been given.

The writer of Proverbs reminds us that “a cheerful heart is good medicine.” This isn’t just feel-good advice; it’s a spiritual truth. When we choose joy, even in difficult circumstances, we open ourselves to God’s healing presence. We become more receptive to His guidance and more effective in our witness to others.

A “crushed spirit” – giving in to negativity and bad moods – drains us. It hinders our spiritual growth and our ability to be a light in the world.

Remember, as Christians, our joy isn’t dependent on circumstances. It’s rooted in the unchanging love of God and the hope we have in Christ. Even in our worst moments, we have reason to rejoice.

I needed to write this for my own benefit. God sure works in mysterious ways. I taught myself a valuable lesson!

 Shine, Shine, Shine!
