Woo Hoo It’s Wednesday

Happy Wednesday!

Lee and I went couch shopping last night during the monsoon. Because of the way the economy is these days, I was not expecting to have many choices. Boy was I wrong. There were couches everywhere! Lee was very specific about what he wanted. It had to be a recliner couch and it had to pass the “hiney test.” He can sit down on a couch and immediately tell if he likes it. I liked the first one we sat down on, but we had to see them all. I kept going back to the first one. So did Lee.  Which one did we buy? The first one.

Why do we keep looking for something better? It seems like we always think that there is something even greater out there. We keep looking for that “thing” that is going to make life so much better. We keep searching for something easier, faster, and more convenient. We need to remember that we have the very best. We have a Savior who sacrificed himself so we can live in heaven where everything is perfect. We will not want for anything.

The media plays into this cycle. Every commercial advertises a product that will make us prettier, skinnier, healthier, wealthier, and happier. The advertisement we need to be is that we have the only “product” out there that can satisfy all of our needs, and that is Jesus Christ. You don’t have to go anywhere else. He is the first and only choice.

Shine, Shine, Shine
