Have you ever had someone say something to you at just the right moment? Words so simple, yet so perfectly timed, that you never forgot them?
Maybe it was a teacher who saw potential in you before you saw it in yourself.
A friend who called on a hard day and somehow knew exactly what to say.
A boss who noticed your effort when you were wondering if anyone even cared.
Or maybe it was just a few words: “I’m proud of you.”
Our words carry incredible power.
The truth is, words can shape the atmosphere of a room, soften a wounded heart, restore confidence, mend relationships, and sometimes even change the direction of someone’s life.
And if words can wound, and we all know they can, when words can also heal.
Proverbs 25:11 says, “A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold…” Not just words, but the right words, spoken at the right time.
That’s where the real power lies. Not in saying more. Not in being the loudest voice.
But in being the voice God can use in a specific moment.
Sometimes it looks like encouragement.
Telling someone, “You handled that with grace.” “Don’t give up.”
And sometimes it looks like simply noticing what others overlook. Because people are often fighting battles we know nothing about.
The cashier who still smiled through a hard day.
The coworker carrying a burden they haven’t shared.
The friend who looks strong but feels tired.
You may never fully know what someone is carrying… but your words might be the thing that helps them carry it a little differently.
So today, ask God to make you aware. Who needs encouragement? Who needs truth? Who needs to feel seen? Who needs hope?
Because one conversation, one compliment, or a simple smile, could change a day.
And sometimes, by God’s design, it could change a life.
That’s why we must Shine, Shine, Shine!
