Brilliant!
Sunday morning, as I was listening to Kevin Griffin share the message, I was once again humbled by God’s wisdom when it comes to what He put into the scriptures and WHY He put it there.
Kevin’s sermon was based on the sightings of Jesus in His 40 days on earth after the resurrection. Remember, He appeared 10 times. As Kevin was talking about appearing to Peter, I was awestruck by the forgiveness Peter was shown and by the job he was given. Why in the world would Jesus give Peter the responsibility of “watching over His sheep?” For crying out loud, Peter betrayed Him 3 times! He lied. He was self-absorbed.
And why would He take Saul, who killed those corrupting his religion, and make him an apostle? He persecuted Christians. He was mean! All of a sudden, I knew WHY these people are in the Bible. God is BILLIANT! God knew there would be people like me who would think at times that there was no way God could use them. So, He used the lowest of the low to show us that when Jesus died on that cross, ALL our sins were forgiven. It didn’t matter that Peter betrayed Jesus. He was forgiven.
God can use each of us. He wanted us to know that. Ask Him what He wants you to do, and then listen for His answer.
Shine, Shine, Shine!
