Have you ever watched someone at the airport trying to drag two oversized suitcases, a carry-on, a purse, a cup of coffee, and somehow still manage to find their boarding pass?
Sometimes that’s exactly what life looks like. We’re carrying things we were never meant to haul around for this long.
A conversation we can’t stop replaying.
A disappointment that still stings.
A regret from years ago.
A relationship that changed.
An expectation that didn’t unfold the way we thought it would.
And somewhere along the way, what started as a moment became baggage.
The hard part is, we get so used to carrying certain things that we forget how heavy they’ve become. We tell ourselves, I’m fine. I can handle it. This is just part of life.
But every now and then, God gently whispers, Why are you still carrying that?
That question can stop you in your tracks.
Because sometimes the exhaustion we feel isn’t from what we’re doing… it’s from what we’re dragging.
Jesus gave one of the most comforting invitations ever spoken: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened…”
Notice He didn’t say, Come when you’ve figured it all out.
He didn’t say, Come when you’ve cleaned up the mess.
He simply said—Come.
Bring the worry.
Bring the disappointment.
Bring the unanswered questions.
Bring the hurt you’ve tried to hide behind a smile.
And then… leave lighter than you came.
Maybe today is a good day to do a little spiritual unpacking.
What needs to stay behind?
The need to control everything? The pressure to please everyone? The guilt from something God already forgave? The fear that keeps whispering you’re not enough?
Some things were lessons. Some things were seasons. Some things were never meant to become permanent baggage.
So today, pack light.
Carry faith. Carry gratitude. Carry kindness. Carry hope. And by all means leave room for joy.
You were never meant to carry it all.
Shine, Shine, Shine!
