The New Normal
Well, it certainly feels like thing are getting back to normal. I for one was ready. But I wonder if we need to develop a new normal. I think we learned many lessons during the pandemic. I think we learned that being at home is not that bad. We learned to appreciate workers that we had taken for granted. We had to learn to trust those in high places, making decisions about our health and welfare. We learned to be innovative in teaching and worship. We learned that the human touch is oh so important. We learned to depend on our faith.
Maybe we can take these lessons learned and make a new normal. The new normal should be appreciation for the job that every person has. We depend on each other for survival. That appreciation should bring about tolerance and patience. The new normal should be a dedication to spending more time with family. The new normal should be each of us praying for our leaders, to make decisions that are in the best interest of all people. The new normal should give us an appreciation of our church and how much it means for us to worship together. The new normal should be telling those whom we love how much we love them and how much they mean to us. The new normal should be a deeper faith and a better prayer life.
The world changed in an instant with Covid. Maybe we can change the world with our new normal. Luke 1:37 says, “For nothing will be impossible with God.” The new normal sounds good to me.
Shine, Shine, Shine!
