Woo Hoo It’s Wednesday

Happy Wednesday

I had the best day yesterday! My son Kyle took me fishing for Mother’s Day. We had a fabulous time. It was a beautiful day, there was a nice breeze, and it was just the two of us on a boat off the coast of Steinhatchee. We caught a number of fish, had great conversation, and enjoyed the peacefulness of being on the water. I am amazed at how relaxing it is to be on a boat, away from it all with reminders of God’s awesomeness all around. What came to mind are the words to a song the ensemble sings: “Be still for the glory of the Lord is shining all around.” The song is based on Psalm 46:10 which says, “He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

I could definitely see the glory of the Lord yesterday. There is something to the words, “Be Still.” It allows us to focus on Him and put all of the ugliness of the world away. It allows us to focus on His creation and wonder what He was thinking when He made sting rays, puffer fish, and sea turtles. It gives us time to look at the clouds, be awed by the beauty around us, and cherish and appreciate the relationships that make our lives so wonderful. We need to stop and be still more than ever. We need to be reminded of His presence, His love for us and His omnipotence. If we are to be a shining light for Christ, we must be still and know He is God. It recharges our batteries and gives us peace and joy.

Wherever you may be, take some time to be still. Soak in the beauty around you. Focus on the people who make you smile. Stop and smell the roses. And be sure to say THANK YOU!

Shine, Shine, Shine!
