I am taking some “Tina Time” at the beach. I am extremely comfortable being alone and felt like I needed some time for the Lord and I to spend some quality time together. I spend the morning working and the afternoons studying my Bible, walking along the beach talking with Him, and then work some more. It is rejuvenating and good for my soul.
Jesus often went away to spend quiet time with our heavenly Father to re-energize, refresh and renew.
Psalm 46:10 says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” One of the hardest parts of living in our culture today is the busyness that consumes our lives. Added to the busyness, research shows that the average person checks their phone every 12 minutes, or approximately 80 times per day. I venture to say it is much more than that. There is so much that keeps us away from time spent with our Heavenly Father. We are constantly pulled in a million directions. Taking the time to be still is an effort, but one that we must make.
Matthew 6:33 tells us to, “Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. There are many things that are competing for our attention each day, but we are reminded that if we seek God first in our lives then everything else will fall into place. The righteousness of God is sometimes referred to as right thinking, right motivation, right speaking, and right acting. I know I need to be fueled with His righteousness. I have many wrong behaviors that need to be righted.
Take time to be still and know that He is God. It will brighten your light so you can Shine, Shine, Shine!
