I woke up this morning feeling blah. Do you ever have one of those days? You wake up, and nothing is technically wrong… but nothing feels right either. Your thoughts are foggy. Your energy is low. You feel out of sync. You try to explain it, but there’s no clear reason. Just a quiet, lingering funk.
These are the mornings that can make you question yourself.
Why do I feel this way?
What’s wrong with me?
Why can’t I just shake it?
But not every feeling needs an explanation. Sometimes your soul is simply asking for space. Sometimes your mind is tired in ways sleep can’t fix. Sometimes your heart is carrying things you haven’t put into words yet. In those unexplainable moments, you are not alone. God doesn’t wait for you to feel joyful before He draws near. He meets you in the quiet, in the fog, in the slow start. He isn’t frustrated by your low energy or disappointed by your lack of enthusiasm. He sits with you right there.
There’s something comforting about knowing you don’t have to force sunshine into a cloudy morning. You can just be honest.
“God, I don’t know why I feel off today… but I do.”
“God, I don’t have my usual spark.”
“God, I need You to carry the light for me today.”
And He will.
Sometimes the most faithful thing you can do is simply keep going softly. Make coffee. Open the blinds. Take a deep breath. Let the day unfold slowly instead of demanding that it shine immediately.
Because even on mornings that start in a funk, grace is still present. Peace is still available.
And light still finds its way in.
I may not wake up shining today. But I don’t have to. God will do the shining for me until my spark returns.
Shine, Shine , Shine
