Wildflowers
I had to go to Tallahassee yesterday. The fastest way for me to go is on Highway 19. It takes me to Trenton, Fanning Springs, Cross City, and Perry. The drive was simply breathtaking. I was doing my 2 Chairs conversation, God was in the passenger seat, and I found myself saying thank you over and over again. The roadways were filled with color. Bright yellows, beautiful purples, robust reds and larger white flowers interspersed amongst the color to make it absolutely perfect. Then, when driving into my driveway, I noticed the lovely yellow and white flowers that line the roadway. I had told Lee recently that I needed to go mow that area. He reminded me that if I would be patient, those weeds would become beautiful wildflowers. Don’t tell him I said this, but he was right! Either side of the road that leads to our house is like a blanket of yellow and white.
I thought it was interesting Sunday, when Richard Parker, our speaker said that he thought he would be “better” by now. How many times have I thought the very same thing! But you know what? I think God sees us as that beautiful wildflower and we see ourselves as ugly weeds. Sin makes us feel ugly. Don’t forget though, those wildflowers looked like weeds at one point. I wanted to mow them over. But patience brought beauty.
Thank you all for being beautiful wildflowers in my life!
Shine, Shine, Shine!
