Easter morning is glorious. Churches are full, voices are lifted in celebration, and the cry of “He is risen!” echoes with joy. But what happens the week after? The lilies begin to wilt, the empty tomb banners are taken down, and life resumes its ordinary rhythm. Yet for the Christian, the resurrection was never meant to be a one-day celebration. It’s a call to daily transformation.
The week after Easter is significant because it’s our first opportunity to truly live out the resurrection. Jesus’ victory over death wasn’t only about an empty grave—it was about filling our lives with new purpose, power, and perspective.
So, what should our response to Easter be?
The resurrection of Jesus means that sin no longer has the final word. As Paul reminds us, because Christ rose, we too can live a new life. That means laying aside old habits, forgiving those who’ve wronged us, and embracing the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, and more. Easter invites us to live new lives—every day.
Don’t let the joy of Easter be a one-day thing. Live each day like it is Easter Sunday!
Shine, Shine, Shine!
