Happy Wednesday!
I went to Orlando with a good friend of mine Tuesday. She was going to the Customs office to complete her application for citizenship. She was born and raised in Canada but has lived in America for 35 years. She felt it was time to become a citizen of the country where she has lived most of her life. In order to become a US citizen, one has to fill out an extensive application, pass a test, go through an interview, and provide a great deal of documentation. If any one of the criteria is not met, then you are not able to become a citizen.
To become a citizen of heaven, we don’t have to apply, we don’t have to pass a test and we don’t need to fill out any paperwork. We simply need to BELIEVE.
Romans 10: 9 says, “That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
To become a Christian, we simply need to believe in the gift we were given last Sunday. Jesus died on the cross and arose three days later. He did that so we can become a citizen of heaven when we leave this earth. It can’t get any easier.
My friend passed her test. She was so excited she wanted to tell everyone. Are we excited about the gift of eternal life we have been given? Do we want to tell everyone about that? Think about it.
Shine, Shine, Shine!
