It happened again Sunday! I love it when God reminds me that He is in charge.
Don hadn’t sent me his sermon information, so I went ahead, picked out the hymns and the special music. The two songs I picked out for the ensemble to sing were entitled “More Than I Imagine” and “Enough.” In the song “More Than I Imagine,” we sang…
“You are more than I imagine,
greater than the heavens,
deeper than my heart could ever dream.
You are more than any treasure,
beyond what I can measure,
and everything that I would ever need.
More than enough for me!”
In “Enough” we sang… (beautifully , might I add?)
“All of you is more than enough for all of me
For every thirst and every need
You satisfy me with Your love
And all I have in You is more than enough.”
When Don got up to speak, the title of his sermon was “When Everything is Not Enough.”
Amazing! But not really. In studying the Old Testament, I have learned that in the beginning, God revealed Himself in big and mighty ways. The purpose of the book of Esther is to show that God can accomplish his purposes just as easily through “coincidences” as he can through grand miracles of deliverance. Though He works behind the curtain, He is just as much in control. Events that others see as chance or fate, can be seen by believers as signs of God’s sovereignty.
God showed his sovereignty Sunday!
Shine, Shine, Shine!
