March is here! Can you believe it? I was dreading March because I turn the big 60 this month. But, one day when I was complaining about it, I thought, “There are a lot of people I know that would like one more day here on earth.” Take my friend Lori Emmer Cain who just passed away at 56. How dare I moan about turning 60?
I opened up my devotion this morning and it went right to my core. “I give you joy in your journey through the world. This sparkling gift is not a luxury; it’s a necessity. There are bumps in the road ahead, as well as sharp curves, ascents and descents. Without Joy in your heart, you will become weary and discouraged.”
It went on to say; “Seek to spread Joy in the world around you. Let my light reflect from your demeanor, through your smiles, your laughter, your words. The Holy Spirit will equip you to do this as you give Him space in your life. Ask Him to fill you with contagious delight. (I love that!) Concentrate on staying close to me, and I will lead you along the path of life. In MY Presence there is fullness of JOY”
Woo Hoo! I might be turning 60 but Joy can be mine. I just need to stay close to Him. I have lots of work to do. There are people in my life that need contagious delight. They need to know the Savior. They need a 60-year-old Tina’ and they need you too!
It gave me joy to see Francis in church Sunday, along with Brenda and Frank.
Contagious delight. Let’s do it!
Shine, Shine, Shine!
