As I looked outside this morning, I couldn’t help but smile. Everything is turning green again. The grass is growing and that means I get to get on the tractor and mow. Woo Hoo! I think I have mentioned many times that time on the mower or tractor is time with God. As I look around at all God has made, I can’t help but want to thank Him.
As I am studying the Old Testament, I am learning that the objective of the Old Testament is for the reader to come to know God better. Think about it. The God who created the universe, who controls history and who will accomplish His plan in His time has chosen to speak to us. That in itself is an act of grace, and we should feel compelled to listen.
As Spring is nearing, one of the ways you can learn about the attributes of God is by taking a minute to stop and look around you. The blooming azaleas show God’s beauty. The wind and the thunderstorms show his power. The sky shows his awesomeness. Look at an elephant, or smell a skunk, and you see his sense of humor. Look into the face, or hear the voice of a loved one and we get a glimpse of how much HE loves us.
He is everywhere. He is revealing Himself in all kinds of ways each and every day. We just have to take a minute to understand that He is revealing Himself to us because He wants us to know Him better.
Stop and appreciate the beauty around you. I don’t think you will be able to withhold words of praise.
Shine, Shine, Shine!
