Lee and I are going on a 9 day cruise. We are going to get our batteries recharged. Today I am busy getting ready and packing. Next week we will be gone. I don’t want to go without a message so I am using an old message for this week and next. They are 2 of my favorites from 2020 and they go together. Please know that I will miss being in church these next 2 Sundays. I love my church family.
Power Up!
This weekend, while Lee and I were away, I noticed he had to charge his phone quite often. He has an I-phone 6. He has had it for a while and when I mention getting him a new one, he is not interested. To make matters even more interesting, the reception is sketchy out where we live, and he has to go outside to carry on conversations. My job requires me to be on the phone a great deal and I didn’t want to have to go outside every time I received a call, so I had to change carriers. It’s amazing how much better my service is.
You know, we have a great line of communication with our Heavenly Father. We have perfect service. There are only two requirements. We must talk to God, and then we must listen. I’m good at talking to Him, but I am not so good at listening. (No surprise there.) I have great service when I am talking, but not so great when I am listening. The signal is strong, I’m just not listening.
For the rest of this week, let’s work on strengthening our signal when it comes to receiving “calls” from Christ. We assured that he will answer our “calls” in Jeremiah 33:3. It says, “Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.” There is so much to learn, so much peace to be received, so much joy to be gained if we will just listen a little bit better. Strengthen your signal, strengthen your faith.
Shine, Shine, Shine
