Woo Hoo It’s Wednesday

It’s funny. I should be excited. Lee is having cleaners come to our house to do a “deep clean” today. Guess what I have been doing for the past couple of days. Yes, you got it! I have been cleaning for the cleaners. Why? I would hate for them to think that I am a horrible housekeeper. I have no clue about these people, and I am stressing about what they think of me. My husband is doing something nice for me and I am letting it stress me out. All for people I don’t know. Geez!!!!

How often do we let what other people think about us impact our actions? We do it subconsciously. What if I wear the wrong thing?  (Yes Don, we know you like to wear jeans to church.) What if I say the wrong thing? What if they think I am a slob because my house is dusty? The bottom line… who cares?

Jesus loves us unconditionally. He doesn’t care that I love to wear shiny things. He doesn’t care that Don wears jeans to church. He doesn’t care what car you drive, how much is in your bank account, or that my house isn’t spotless. What He cares about is my heart. Would He rather I clean my house on Sunday mornings rather than come to church? Would He rather I fold laundry than write my Wednesday message? I don’t think so.

Rather than worry about what others think, worry about your heart being in the right place. We are loved unconditionally, without judgement because we have been declared righteous. Romans 6:18 says: “And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.”  Who cares what others think of us when our Heavenly Father loves us regardless.

Let us work towards being more like Him.

Shine, Shine, Shine!
