Woo Hoo It’s Wednesday

I am out of town for work this week. Tuesday, while I was packing, I was wanting to make sure that I “sparkled.” We have some not very nice board members and I wanted to bring my A-game. I’m all about the sparkle. I have Kate Spade’s saying on my wall, “She leaves a little sparkle wherever she goes.” And my mantra is, “Another day, another chance to sparkle.” I got frustrated trying to figure out what to put in my suitcase, so I went to the computer to write my Wednesday message.

DUH, Tina. Sparkle doesn’t come from what you wear, sparkle comes from your heart. I use the term sparkle and shine as one and the same. We all know what the Bible says about shining for Him.

Matthew 5:15-16, “Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Philippians 2:14-16 says, “Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation. Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life.

When we shine, when we sparkle, we are reflecting the light of our Father. We are reflecting His love. It’s all in the way we act, in the way we carry ourselves, in the way we treat others, and in the way that we react and respond to negativity and ugliness. That’s how we shine. Marc Jacobs says, “Shine is my favorite color.” Mine too.

I get it. It doesn’t matter what I wear, it’s who I am in those clothes. But… Sunday you need to be prepared because I am going to sparkle and shine brightly. Both inside and out. Woo Hoo!

Shine, Sparkle, Shine!
