I think you know by now that my goal when writing these Wednesday messages is to encourage you to be “a light in the darkness.” I read another book by Jon Gordon after I read “The Energy Bus.” This book was called “The Power of Positive Leadership.” In speaking with Truett Cathy, the founder of Chick-Fil-A he asked, “How do you know if a man or woman needs encouragement?” His response: “If they are breathing.” We all need encouragement. And it can be so simple. Gordon reminds us; “No matter what your job is, when you smile at someone, remember you are acting as a pharmacist giving them an antidepressant.” When you share a real smile, it not only produces more serotonin in your brain but in the brain of the recipient of your smile. Your smile truly has the power to change how someone feels. Don’t underestimate our ability to be God’s light in a dark world. Simple message today, but one so very important.
Proverbs 15:13 says, “A glad heart makes a happy face; a broken heart crushes the spirit.” Use your happy face to brighten someone’s day.
Shine, Shine, Shine!
