Woo Hoo It’s Wednesday

–Wow! It was so good to be back in church Sunday. It was great seeing those of you that were there, and we missed those of you who were missing.

Last week I had my blood drawn in preparation for my semi-annual visit to my endocrinologist. I go every 6 months until my 10-year anniversary of being cancer free. (I had thyroid cancer in 2014.) It always amazes me how much information can be gathered by analyzing our blood. You can find out about your cholesterol, measure your calcium, potassium, electrolytes, carbon dioxide, sodium, and the list goes on and on. Diagnoses can be made about cancer, infection, diabetes, kidney disease, heart disease and many more. All from a little vial of blood.

While doctors can find out a great deal about us through a blood test, the only way people can find out about us is by our behavior. No blood test shows that we are a Christian. It is only through our actions that we can show that we are one of God’s children. We can stand on the corner and proclaim our Christianity, but if our actions don’t mirror our words, poof! We have done more damage than good.

This is why I continually say, “Shine, Shine, Shine.” Matthew 5:16 says; “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” We are called to let our light shine to be a witness for Jesus Christ. Not for our own benefit.

Sunday, if Don is still under the weather, I will talk more about this. Until then, put your light on high beam and…

Shine, Shine, Shine!
