Shine, Shine, Shine!
Let’s start off this new year by remembering that you are the light of the world. Don’t waste energy focusing on the evil things which you have no control over. Pray about these matters, but refuse to let them haunt your thoughts. Instead, focus your energies on doing what you can to brighten the place where God has placed you. Use your time, talents, and resources to push back the darkness. Shine HIS Light into the world!
2 Corinthians 3:18 says. “And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” The Message Bible puts it this way; our lives gradually become brighter and more beautiful as God enters our lives and we become like him. I think this is why I have collected things that have the saying “Leave a little sparkle wherever you go.” I like it because it reminds me to reflect God’s Light. Even if it is just a spark or sparkle, it makes a difference. We are reflecting His Glory and brightening the place we live.
My prayer for 2023 is that we will shine brighter than we ever have. Lord knows our world needs it. As Graham Kendrick says in his song, “Shine, Jesus, Shine,” may our faces display His likeness, and may our lives tell His story.
