It’s a Win!
Yesterday I looked at Lee and said, “The Gators (basketball) are going to get annihilated tonight.” They were playing Tennessee, the number 6 team in the nation, and were missing not only their best player but two other starters. Well, lo and behold the Gators pulled the upset and beat them handily.
When thinking about what I was going to write this morning, it dawned on me that we do the same thing to God. We underestimate His power and His ability to help us through the trials and tribulations we face each day. We forget that He is God.
We sang a song Sunday that listed these adjectives to describe God:
Indescribable
Uncontainable
All powerful
Untameable
Incomparable
Unchangeable
AMAZING
We also sang the words, “Nothing’s too big for my God. No, no, nothing’s too big for my God. Not going to be discouraged, not going to be depressed, nothing’s too big for my God.”
It’s easy to get discouraged or depressed. Lee and I lost a dear friend last night to Covid. He died alone in the hospital. His wife Loreta and family, need our prayers. Our closest neighbor is on a ventilator at North Florida. His name is Rick. He needs our prayers. I can choose to wallow in the sadness and fear, or, I can choose to trust my all-powerful, amazing God. I will not underestimate his ability to give peace to those who are hurting, heal those who are sick, and forgive me for not believing He is in control.
Isaiah 40:31says:
“Yet those who wait for the Lord
Will gain new strength;
They will mount up with wings like eagles,
They will run and not get tired,
They will walk and not become weary.”
Mount up with wings like eagles today. Don’t underestimate what God can do.
Love you all!
