—The Power of Your Love!

It is easy for me to prepare our Wednesday messages when I rely on the songs the ensemble sings for my inspiration. Today the song that came to mind was “The Power of Your Love.” I am not sure about you but I often get so frustrated with myself because I have not acted in a way that is aligned with my beliefs and faith. I say or think something that I KNOW did not come from the Spirit within me. The disappointment that I feel in myself can turn into impatience, anger, and bitterness. Before I get to that point I should simply rely on the words of the song below. The weaknesses we have can be stripped away by the power of His love. We simply have to ask Him to change our heart and renew us. This can only happen because of the grace, the amazing grace He has offered us.

Not only can we change our hearts, but maybe we can be a catalyst for change in others. I know I keep harping on the disappointing state our country is in. When we see the ugliness, when we hear of something that makes our heart ache and shake our head in shame, what if we change the words to the chorus just a bit. As a church body, let’s commit to saying:

 “Hold THEM close, Let Your love surround THEM, Draw THEM to your side.”

Then let’s say that same prayer for and ask for Him to do the same for us. When we do, we will soar with Him above the ugliness. Maybe we can change the world one quick prayer at a time.
