Sunday Recap

Twenty Covenant members celebrated Thanksgiving by worshipping together yesterday. It was great to hear what members are thankful for.  Joe let us know that we have collected $1500.00 for Bread of the Mighty Foodbank. Supplies are being gathered for Pine Grove as our church continues to make an impact on our community. Edwina worked with Tessa upstairs. Believe it or not, Tessa turns 4 December 26th.
 
Ron reminded us that The Covenant Church Annual Meeting will be held on Sunday, December 6, at 11:15 AM immediately following the Sunday service.  Although this meeting is usually held on a Wednesday evening, the Trustees have changed the time this year to make it most convenient for members to attend immediately after Sunday church services.

 

The meeting, as in other years, will have two main objectives.  One objective is to approve the 2021 church budget and the second is to elect new Trustees where existing terms have expired.  The budget will be sent out shortly to all members for their review.  The term of Trustee Joe Morgan has expired this year, and Joe has agreed to run again for election as church Treasurer.  In addition, earlier this year Madge Bush decided to resign from the Trustees for health reasons.  The Trustees have voted unanimously to continue Madge as an Honorary Trustee through the end of 2021 in honor of her great and continuing service to Covenant Church.  So the plan is to operate throughout 2021 with the four active Trustees – Ron Marks, Edwina Hope, Michelle Miller, and Joe Morgan (if re-elected), and with Madge as an Honorary Trustee with no official duties.

 

Because some members may not feel comfortable attending the church meeting in person, the Trustees will allow members to vote by email (or mail), or to give their proxy vote to a member attending the meeting that day.  To vote by email, mail or proxy, please make Ron Marks aware of your intentions.  He can be reached by phone (352-870-9843), email (ronmarks06@cox.net), or by mail at the Covenant Church address.  Your vote should be for or against the 2021 church budget, and for or against Joe Morgan to continue as church Treasurer.
