Most Gracious Heavenly Father:

We thank you so much for the blessing of all mothers in Your world!  As Your Word tells us in Proverbs “do not forsake your mother’s teaching; indeed, they are a graceful wreath to your head and ornaments about your neck”.  Such beautiful words celebrate the contribution that mothers make daily throughout their lives for us and how those influenced by mothers treasure the time and relationship they experience.  We celebrate in addition to biological mothers those who have chosen to contribute their motherly gift to your world through adoption and by supporting young family members, children of friends, and even strangers, to help them grow into productive, healthy, and faithful adults.

Your Word also tells us “her children rise up and bless her; her husband also, and he praises her”.  May God continually bless all mothers today and every day of the year.  Amen
