Don and Diane Mauldin moved to Gainesville following his time as a missionary. Don founded the Tower Road Baptist Church in 1985 and led that church for 19 years. He then joined the local Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) organization and led the local North Central Florida chapter until his retirement in 2020. Don then accepted the position as Pastor at Covenant Church in July 2021.

Believing that God has called mankind to Himself through the local church, Covenant Church dedicates itself to the spreading of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth starting in Gainesville.
To this purpose we commit:
- To develop each member’s relationship with Christ
- To help each member discover his/her gifts of ministry
- To provide ways each member can use his/her gifts to minister to a broken world
- To support programs and prayerfully allocate resources with our mission in mind
