Covenant message from Anita Minck.

I SURRENDER ALL, by: J.W. Van DeVenter    (1855-1939)

Mr. Van Deventer was not always a minister.  His first interest and passion was for art. He taught school for awhile when he finished college which helped him afford to study drawing and painting. As he told is own story, “At last the pivotal hour of my life came, and I surrendered all. A new day was ushered into my life.  I became an evangelist and discovered down deep in my soul a talent hitherto unknown to me.  God had hidden a song in my heart and touching a tender chord, he caused me to sing songs I had never sung before.”

At the close of a crusade meeting he asked those to come forward and pray using these words, “I receive Christ as Saviour.  I accept him as Lord.”  It is a mistake to think we can receive Christ’s offer of forgiveness and then go out to live our life as we please.  God has a claim on us and we must expect him to tell us how we should live.  We should never fear to give God complete control of our lives.
