Dear Covenant Family:
Today was a great day at Covenant, with 29 folks in attendance at today’s service. Note all the information in the attached church bulletin. We had a few prayer requests asked today. Carolyn Vlacos asked for prayers both for her husband Mack and his brother Bob. Michelle Miller asked for prayers for her granddaughter Tessa who will be having some oral surgery this week. Helen Ann Noegel asked for prayers for Larry as he was unable to come to church today due to stomach issues.
Pastor Don titled today’s sermon Where Is Waldo? He suggested a sub-title of Does God Hear Me? His scripture for the sermon was Psalm 33:12-22 and Psalm 34:15-17. The sermon focused on God hearing us and seeing us, and on his timing for dealing with evildoers. If you were unable to be in church today, I suggest and hope you will listen to Don’s sermon. Pastor Don’s sermon can be accessed at https://gainesvillecovenantchurch.org/ and then choose Sermons on the home page, and then choose the sermon you want to hear.
Also, we had our Covenant Annual Business Meeting immediately after the church service. We confirmed Joe Morgan for a new 3-year term as a Trustee and Treasurer. We then approved the 2024 annual budget of $94,000. One question was asked regarding whether our monthly ministries would continue in 2024. Joe and Ron confirmed that the same ministries would be supported in 2024, and that Covenant spends about 14% of its annual budget on our ministries, so Covenant has more than tithed each of the last few years!
Finally, don’t forget the Annual Covenant Thanksgiving Dinner next Sunday at 5 PM. Covenant will provide the turkey, ham, and drinks. We ask each family to bring their favorite vegetable dish, salad, or dessert to share with others. Please feel free to bring your family and friends, we look forward to seeing everyone there!
I wish everyone a very blessed week!
Ron
