Covenant Update from Ron

Dear Covenant Family:

Yesterday was a great day at Covenant Church.  We had the largest turnout in awhile with 39 folks in attendance.  Please see the attached bulletin from yesterday’s service for more information, especially note the poem Tina has included titled simply Faith.

We began our prayer request time with a special praise from Becky Alexander for her father Bill Mercado.  Bill has struggled the past few months with a brain bleed, and has undergone a number of MRIs and doctor appointments to deal with this situation, along with high blood pressure that developed at the same time.  Becky told us that Bill’s latest MRI this past week revealed that the tumor causing the bleed had shrunk considerably, which the doctors were glad to see.  Bill still has a few more months to confirm that the brain bleed is fully repaired, but the news yesterday was great to hear.  Please continue your prayers for both Bill and Ramona.

Carolyn Vlacos was in church and asked for prayers for Mack who has been under the weather all week with a cold.  Larry Noegel asked for prayers for Mickey Milam who fell due to low blood pressure and is now in rehab at Oak Hammock.  Shirley Romey asked for prayers for Dr. Roberts, who gave the eulogy at Pastor Carl’s recent celebration of life.  Dr. Roberts has had a number of seizures recently and is struggling for life right now.  Missy Mauldin asked for continued prayers for her missionary friends in Madrid, Spain, and especially for their teenage daughter who is struggling right now.  Please keep all these folks in your prayers and others we have raised up recently.

Pastor Don’s sermon was based on scripture from the longest chapter in the Bible, Psalm 119.  Pastor Don specifically focused on verses 99-106.  This scripture deals with handling stress in your lives, which we all seem to feel to some extent right now.  I would highly recommend Pastor Don’s sermon to you if you were unable to be with us yesterday.  If you would like to listen to Pastor Don’s sermon, all recorded sermons can be accessed at https://gainesvillecovenantchurch.org/ and then choose Sermons on the home page, and then choose the sermon you want to hear.

I wish you all a most blessed week!
