Covenant Update from Ron

Dear Covenant Family:

Today was a great Easter Day at Covenant with 39 family and friends attending.  Attached is today’s bulletin for your review, please note that this month’s ministry is the King ministry in Ghana, also note that we will continue collecting toiletries for Newberry High School as they are running low and also the school year ends during May.  Also note The Easter Message that Tina included in the bulletin, it is excellent.  Also note that Covenant Church is planning a luncheon immediately following our church service on April 21 to celebrate our 37th anniversary since forming in 1987.  Covenant will provide all the food and drinks, and attendees will be asked to bring their favorite dessert.  More details will follow in the next two weeks.  Also, note that our Covenant calendar for April is also attached which lists the birthdays, anniversaries, and activities for the month.

A number of Prayer Requests and Praise Requests were also made today.  A prayer request was raised for Carolyn and Mack Vlacos, Carolyn is in the hospital currently and Mack is still having some breathing issues.  Missy Mauldin had a Prayer Request for the students and families at Newberry High School regarding the death of a student a week ago.  Diane Mauldin also had a Prayer Request for her cousin’s son who had 4 bypass surgeries this week, and may need more surgery.

Becky Alexander had a Praise Request as her recent annual MRI checking on her brain tumor was stable, which was very good news.  Frank Dolwick had a praise for Tim Tebow who gave an excellent Easter message on TV this morning.  Also, Shaw Grigsby had a praise for a friend of his who recently had to have one foot removed, but is pleased with his prothesis and that he is now able to get around again.

Pastor Don gave a sermon today titled Seeing is Believing and his scripture used was Mark 16.  It was an excellent sermon on Jesus’ resurrection, the reaction of His disciples and followers, and how we often react to surprising news in our lives.    To hear Pastor Don’s comments relating these verses of scripture to the resurrection of Jesus, you should listen to his entire sermon.  Today’s sermon and all recorded sermons can be accessed at https://gainesvillecovenantchurch.org/ and then choose Sermons on the home page, and then choose the sermon you want to hear.

I pray that you all had a very blessed and peaceful Holy Week and Easter Day.  May God continue to bless each of you in your walk with Him!

Ron
